Bata´s business in Iraq began with the opening of stores in 1932. Two years later a factory and a sister company were founded. Business continued until 1964, when the property of the Bata Company was nationalised.
- The export of Bata´s shoes to Iraq was gradually increasing: 20,000 pairs (in 1928), 35,000 pairs (in 1931), 97,000 pairs (in 1937)
- During 1932, the company opened its stores in Baghdad, Basra and Mosul, as well as other retail outlets in the cities of Baghdad, Basra, Kut, Amarah, Kirkuk, Baiji
- At the beginning of September 1934 Bata´s footwear factory in Baghdad started operating. In the same year a sister company Chaussures Bata S.A., Baghdad was established
- In 1939, the company was selling its footwear in ten stores in the cities of Baghdad, Ashar, Basra, Mosul, Kirkuk, Amarah, Erbil, Kut, Habbanyah
- 1962 – Bata Iraq Company (W.L.L.) was on the list of historically registered Bata companies
- In 1964 the company was nationalised
