In 1930, the Bata company got into the local market with the export of 1,000 pairs of shoes, and Bata shoes permanently gained a strong position here. In 1937, 1 corporate store was in operation there, the same number as in 1947. In 1962, the Société Intercontinental d’Expansion et de Controle (Martinique) was included in the list of historically existing Bata companies. In the following years, the corporate business on the island continued — Bata Outre-Mer S. A., Martinique (1992).
