Pakistan

Business operations of the Bata Company in Pakistan relied on an older Batapur factory. During the later period, another plant in Marak was opened. The retail network was also present in the country.

  • In the territory of British India, the Bata Company orchestrated extensive business activities including several factories; In 1947, on the territory of independent Pakistan, Bata owned the Batapur factory in the northeast outskirts of Lahore (the factory was in operation since 1942)
  • A sister company was registered on 26th December 1951, and worked under the name of Bata Shoe Co. Ltd.
  • 1962 – Bata Shoe Company (Pakistan) Limited and Globe Commercial Enterprises (Dacca) Ltd. (E. Pakistan) were on the list of the historically registered Bata companies for Pakistan
  • Around 1980, a second factory was built in the country – Maraka (in the southwest edge of Lahore)
  • In the 1992 the following Bata companies operated in Pakistan:

    • Sales Office, Karachi
    • Branch Factory, Maraka
    • Int. Tanners and Industries, Lahore
    • Atari Plant, Lahore
