The first Bata shop in Cyprus opened in 1932, other stores followed and in 1939 the retail network grew to 8 outlets. Bata´s business continued to thrive throughout the next decades.

  • 1962 – the following companies were listed in the register of existing Bata companies for the area of Cyprus: Bata (Cyprus) Limited (Cyprus); Middle East Commercial Enterprises Limited (Cyprus). The backbone of the firm enterprising on the island in following decades was company Bata Cyprus, Nicosia (in 1978, 1992)
